"As an American manufacturer, we are feeling the squeeze of subsidized imported PVP products and artifical price support that have forced us to make cut-backs on our employees, and made it much tougher as a start up to be competitive in the market place. Chinese companies have a long history of this practice, evidenced by the number of anti-dumping lawsuits which have been won by American manufacturers. We fully support the efforts to combat this issue now, and in the future, regardless of the industry."

"Thanks to SolarWorld's presence in our market, we are able to survive today. We have been trying to create sales by offering panels at our cost but still can't make a sales because super cheap imported panels are always flooding in the market. Their panel price is even lower than our raw materials cost. We can't compete with them. Today we need the real support from government for local manufacturers, so we can finally create and keep local manufacturing jobs. We want to sell our products to local installers."

"Rampant over globalization is already significantly impacting the standard of living in the US. The location with the lowest cost of manufacturing, while maybe the most advantageous for profits, is not necessarily the best choice for the future of our country and our children. These decisions need to be driven from what is the right thing for our economy long term, as opposed to the maximization of short term profit and this month's shareholder value. We have seen a precipitous decline in many of the companies that chased short term profits via globalization, only to lose control of their technology. Research and development is driven by manufacturing. We can't manufacture offshore and expect to hold onto engineering and research jobs for very long."

"It is imperative we not allow China to undercut domestic providers of solar power technology, and bring harmful instability to the supply side of the industry. Consumers must believe panel manufacturers and system integrators will remain in business and trust in their support of solar installations for decades in order to continue expanding quantity of demand for solar power. Now it seems both sides of the solar economics equation are headed in the wrong direction. We cannot go backwards, as witnessed by the loss of domestic manufacturing across the board in America, so now is the time to stop talking about it and take action by placing import tariffs on Chinese manufactured panels before it is too late."

"Water Missions International made a conscientious decision in 2009 to start using SolarWorld solar panels in all of our solar powered water projects. Since that time, we have installed over 200 kW of power in developing countries around the world serving an estimated 300,000 people access to safe drinking water. Our decision to standardize on SolarWorld solar panels was based on the ability to have a good working relationship with our vendor. At the time of this decision, we had lower cost Chinese alternatives that we passed up with the belief that the value associated with a solid relationship outweighed the price difference. With the ability to now look back over the last three years, we have seen this decision pay dividends time after time. Water Missions International stands in full support of SolarWorld and the Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing in its quest for healthy competition, domestic manufacturing and sustainable production."

"The Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing highlights the fact that China views trade as a zero-sum game where they win and their "partners" lose. China is no longer a "developing" nation. They are a global economic superpower with an explicit national policy that denies trade partners fair access to their markets while they profit from the fair trade practices of the developed world. The U.S. economy profits, along with our partners, when we trade fairly with WTO member nations. The rising tide of economic activity lifts all boats. The United States has more leverage to apply on behalf of our nation's manufacturers than we have been using. We have progressive policy incentives in the country that encourage solar deployment. Let's ensure that these investments are leveraged to create American jobs."
